Treble Raises $18M to Expand Audio and Voice Development Platform for Physical AI
Frumtak Ventures continues its backing of the Reykjavík-based acoustic simulation company as it expands into the US market.
Reykjavík, 17 September 2026 – Frumtak Ventures is pleased to share that portfolio company Treble Technologies has raised $18 million (approximately €15 million) in a Series A-2 round. The round was led by Paladin Capital Group, with participation from Frumtak Ventures and fellow existing investors KOMPAS VC and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund. The financing brings Treble's total funding to €36 million.
Founded in Reykjavík by acoustic engineers Finnur Pind and Jesper Pedersen, Treble has built a cloud-based platform for high-accuracy sound simulation, acoustic digital twins and synthetic audio data generation. The new capital will support the company's growth in the United States and its expansion into physical AI, where its simulation technology helps device manufacturers and AI developers train, test and improve products across a virtually unlimited range of real-world acoustic conditions.
Why sound matters for physical AI
Physical AI – intelligent systems that perceive, understand and act in the physical world – has so far focused mainly on vision and touch. But as voice interfaces and audio intelligence become standard in everything from wearables and head-worn devices to humanoid robots and autonomous vehicles, these products need to hear and interpret sound reliably. That means coping with background noise, reverberation, varied room configurations and differences in microphone placement, often while the device itself is moving through the environment.
This is where Treble's technology comes in. By recreating how sound physically moves through space, the platform lets developers build digital acoustic versions of rooms, vehicles, materials and devices, and evaluate how a product or AI model will perform before building physical prototypes or launching large-scale recording programmes. Teams can generate consistent, labelled datasets, test edge cases that are difficult to reproduce in the real world, and compare product configurations under controlled conditions. The result is that prototype testing and data collection can shrink from months to days, while audio AI models become more robust.

Treble already works with some of the world's leading developers of voice-enabled devices, including Amazon and Logitech.
